“Music, art & culture have been my life's work for over 20 years. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to connect!”

Vanessa Fernandez is an artist-producer, who’s released soul/electronic music, managed radio stations and believes in positively shaping culture through music.

At age 12 she won a national talent competition with her church choir, then started performing in musicals with the Singapore Repertory Theatre Young Company at 16. At 18 she was part of a hip-hop group signed to Universal & the now-defunct EMI Southeast Asia. After a break from music to complete a diploma in Mass Communication, graduating with merit from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, she joined commercial hit radio station, 987FM. Following a 2-year stint in Los Angeles, during which the Vandetta EP was made & released, she returned to Singapore and became Programme Director of Lush99.5fm, where she honed her skills in branding, marketing & culture development through music & media.

As the artist, Vandetta, she has performed at festivals such the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Festival (France), Laneway Festival (Singapore), BIGSOUND (Australia), V-ROX (Russia) and Concrete & Grass Festival (China). She has also released music on major labels such as Universal & EMI, independent labels, Syndicate, Groove Note Records, Medallion Sounds, as well as her imprint, Ownself Records. In 2018, Vanessa was featured in Singapore’s National Day theme song video “We Are Singapore” and also sung the National Anthem at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix 2018.
